Culture File and The Culture File Weekly are now both available via pretty much everywhere.

Most lately, we're now on Spotify at this end of this link. So why not get in there and follow us / heart us. If you do.

On iTunes (Apple Podcasts) subscribing is every bit as easy as clicking twice, once on this link here and then once on the "subscribe" button when you get to iTunes.

From this weekend, every weekend, there will be a compilation of the week's Culture File highlights - along with special extras and longer takes on your favourite stories.

Culture File and the longform comedy improvisation troupe, The Cardinals, have recorded one of the Cardinal's completely un-scripted, made-up-on-the spot comedy shows specially for RTE Lyric FM listeners. And they've recorded it binaurally.

If you've never tried listening to a binaural recording, it's quite a special experience that pretty miraculously puts your ears right in the middle of the company as they perform. To hear it at work, all you have to do is download the file above (see that little downwards pointing arrow, top right?) and listen to it on headphones. 

Obviously, you can just play the file right here and now. But, to hear the full binaural glory, you defo need to click that little downwards pointing arrow and grab the large wav version, then use earphones to listen. It's a big file, so broadband it, y'all.

Soundsdoable's Culture Culture FileNow On Soundcloud

We've always put the Xtras for Culture File on Soundcloud. It's a great place to find all those juicy bits that simply couldn't be squeezed into Culture File each day on RTE Lyric FM, Monday-Friday, 5.40pm.

But now, everything Culture File be available on Soundcloud: the podcasts and the Xtras, daily. You'll still be able to find Culture File in the places you're used to finding it - on tumblr, wordpress and even good ole blogger. But now, you'll also be able to choose to listen or download from that great Soundcloud interface.

Soundsdoable Shortlisted for PPI Award for Best Documentary

The Soundsdoable production, Why London Cannot Keep Its Fools At Home, has been shortlisted in the PPI annual radio awards in the Documentary category.

Why London Cannot Keep Its Fools At Home, produced by Luke Clancy and Regan Hutchins tells the three century long history of Smock Alley theatre in Dublin, and its resurrection in 2012 as a working theatre. 

The program was commissioned by RTELyricFM for its Lyric Feature strand.

Culture File is 400! And on Tumblr!

A lot of people say to us "I've really tried and tried to figure out how to get the Culture File podcast on iTunes and on loads of other podcasting apps, and I don't know if I'm thick of something, or if I'm just getting old, hell, I'm not even sure if this spot was here yesterday, actually, I'm pretty sure it wasn't now that you mention it...but where was I? Oh ,yes, the podcast thing, it never really works the way I want. I'm always missing stuff, which makes me incredibly sad. Is there anything you can suggest to help me, or to treat the spot?" This, by the way, is an indicative question, rather than a real one, but you get the idea.

And, there is an answer. At least to keeping up to date on the Culture File podcast. (All we can say about the spot is don't stress, but see a doctor maybe.)
